This illustration was made for entry to a university wide art competition, themed 'pursuit for happiness'. Here, I was attempting to depict the 'pursuit for happiness' and decided that strong contrast was the way forward. Amidst the dark creatures, the character stands out and finds comfort in a small flower. This was meant to symbolise my personal outlook that we should appreciate the little things that bring joy to us, as they can be our anchor during troubling times. In my opinion, this simple perception of our lives is often overlooked. The pursuit of happiness, to me, is an ongoing journey of reflection and appreciation.
