8th Grand Rapids Latin American Film Festival

The Grand Rapids Latin American Film Festival (GRLAFF), which has been bringing films that represent diverse perspectives, origins, and themes to the Wealthy Theatre since 2010, returned for its eighth season this spring. Over the three-day period, the festival featured nine recent films from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, and Venezuela. A number of films were also followed by question-and-answer sessions with directors and panel discussions with special guests. (Click here to view the festival schedule.)

On Saturday, April 7, for the first time the festival offered a “GRLAFF for Kids” event in the Wealthy Theatre’s micro-cinema, with live puppet shows and a screening of Anina, an animated film from Uruguay.

The entire festival was free to the public and all films were presented with English subtitles.
