Jian Jian
“Jian” in Mandarin means subtraction also can understood as simplicity.

“Subtraction” - We subtract redundant elements of the space. “Simplicity” - We only keep the wonderful simplicity way of life.

Everyone will has a different perspective through their life experiences and will obtain each own philosophy of living.

The main core of this case is surrounding by the owner’s philosophy of life - “The Minimalist”.
We applied this spirit to the design of the space by reducing the unnecessary structures and materials in order to show the simplicity of beauty. Just let the furnitures adorn the space.

The pattern of this space is deep, so we emphasized the characteristic by coloring, deducted extraneous cabinet
and chose the materials wisely by using plain but decent texture. Due to these “Subtraction”, we created more potential for the user to build his own vision of life aesthetics.

We used big area of color to display its depth.
The design of the ceiling correlated the extension concept with the wall.
The main light of the space are long type of groove lamps, it’s adjustable in many position and different angles so there would be more possibility to change atmosphere with the mood and situation.

About coloring we focused on the layering; You can only see a various of low saturation colors such as grey and white in this space, polish with wooden floor and embellish by the colors of furniture.
