Every other year, the Assemblies of God hosts one of it’s largest events, General Council, in a major U.S. city. The week-long event is packed with activities for all ages including Kid’s Council, National Fine Arts Festival, youth events, workshops, world-renowned speakers, and much more. In the coming year, General Council will be held in Orlando, Florida August 5-9, 2013, and it will center around a campaign called Believe. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to help create the many materials needed to promote this huge event. The logo for the Believe campaign was the first project among many to establish the brand, and we are very pleased with the result.

The Believe campaign encourages members of the AG to come together at General Council and believe for God to do greater things. They want to communicate the importance of unity, so we used an illustration of a dandelion to show many small parts making up a whole. For typography, we used a bold, dramatic serif for “Believe” and more subtle italic serifs for the subheaders. We show the logo here on the two main colors that are used throughout the rest of the materials: stark black and electric yellow. Our goal with this brand is to appeal to both the experienced, long-attending pastors as well as the young, up-and-coming leaders.

We’ll post more of the development of the Believe campaign’s brand in the coming weeks and months, including collaborations with Harp Creative and Randy Bacon Studios, so check back soon! In the mean time, learn more about this year’s General Council in Orlando at generalcouncil.ag.org.
