'Oltregusto' is brand identity project for the catering side-project of a restaurant in Abbiategrasso, near Milan. The name means "beyond taste" and wants to express an added ethical value, namely that the catering is completely managed by intellectually disabled people. The final objective of this module was therefore conveying the ethical side of the catering business through brand identity.
The logo was designed to portray the idea of food alongside a more ethical purpose. Taking advantage of the Gestalt principle of foregroud-background, two faces are visible in the empty space, whereas you can see a tart in the centre. The faces should reflect a sense of community and the tart is a simple reminder of food.
We designed different illustrations to display the cutlery and supports for the catering. Their hand-made feel should convey the human and social side of Oltregusto, while the vivid photographs express the quality of food and ingredients.
The website is a simple landing page provinding essential information about Oltregusto and allowing customers to make a reservation or demand an estimate of costs for the service.
