Swiggy App Features re-design (my take):
Swiggy is an on-demand food delivery app based in India. The primary features of any food delivery app should have these :
1. Browse restaurants
2. Filter based on different criteria
3. Search different options
4. Find meals that fit the needs of the user

Case Study (SWIGGY):
Overall, the food ordering experience is smooth without any hiccups. The app does the job. Flow of all use cases works well. However, the following few editions can help make the app more user friendly and enable the brand to grow further.
Current filter view:
1.Filter variations :
As you can see, the user doesn’t have much options here other than choosing offers, pure veg or cuisines. Most of the users today, have a certain criteria before ordering food. We can divide the users in 3 cases:
a. Users who have a fixed budget
b. Users who want to order food that is delivered quick
c. Users who want to explore and eat good food based on others opinion and also give their own.

Based on the above personas, I suggest the following screen options which will meet all the different use cases. This will show the transparency of the brand to the users as well as help them decide what they want to do - that is, giving them the complete freedom to choose and order as per their needs.

Suggested screens:
The two screens below are self explanatory as such. The reasoning:
a. Allow the user to choose restaurants based on various filter options like offers, rating, delivery etc.
b. Using a slider to set a price point. This makes its simpler for the end user to set their budget/ limitations making the app accessible to all.
c. By using the same slider option to select the delivery fees upfront, lets the user believe that the brand is transparent. There are no hidden costs - you get what you see!
d. Keeping a separate tab for cuisines: There are far too many cuisines that one can explore. Hence, having images that can fill the screen not only makes it appealing, it is also eye-catching and easier to comprehend than plain text.
2. Search bar
The current search view ( as seen on the left side), shows all the recent searches. It doesn’t have any option for the user to search beyond something they already know. This can be frustrating. The user who loves to explore, would love to see different available options. Hence, having the filter button here, which is the same as the one explained in the previos case, will make it more explorative for the user. By doing this, we solve two user cases - One case wherein the user knows what they want and inputs the same. The second, it also caters the users who want to explore further than what they have in mind.

Current view:                                                                                 Suggested view:
1. Customization:
Swiggy allows the user to add custom notes once the cart is filled. However, if a user wants to add specific instructions on different dishes, it is difficult to do so. By allowing the user to input instructions while selecting the dish, will make the app more user-friendly and interactive.
See images below:
Suggested view:
Giving the user the liberty to customize their order while selecting the dishes, makes the app more intuitive. It also reduces the overhead from the user of having to type all of the text at once.
