Gastronomy is without a doubt one of the largest economic activities in the world. We can find gastronomy anywhere we go, regardless of the geography, culture or race. It’s been present since immemorial times, and for obvious reasons it will remain even when other macro economical activities start to fade.

The Paris Maket Lab is a complex where kitchen is taken to a new level, not only in the way that dishes are prepared but also in the way the clients interact with it. The Market Lab acts as restaurant and cooking school at once, and it wants to be nothing less than one of the best in the world in both categories.

Form of the building derived from answers to two main problems of the site: how to connect with the historic surroundings and how to accomodate the very complex program. One of corners have been cut off to create a representative entrance to the building. Through the analisis of the surroundings, it was concluded that the courtyards are an integral part of Parisian buildings. The project involves creation of a courtyard, which aims to introduce light into the interior of the building without wasting usable floor space. Another updated form is the classic French mansard roof made of glass and steel. This construction creates an extraordinary panoramic view of parisian rooftops and gives a lot of light to the interior. How about a glass of French wine under starry sky?
