Start WIT was created for upcoming students of Waterford Institute of Technology. The website was made to help school leavers understand the journey they will have to go through before they start their first day of lectures - and how to deal with all the new responsibilities.

Website had to be mainly informative but also fun. Main target audience was 17-18 year olds who are going to college, but also their parents who would like to learn a little bit more about college.

Because the website portrays a journey, it is a one scrollable page with a navigation bar at the top of the screen. It contains all sections of the website and when clicked into, it jumps down to that section of the page.

The design is a mixture of photography and flat graphics. Photography suggests the more mature part of life that students are about to get into while flat, colourful graphics represent the fun and still child like feel. The two combined make the perfect combination of getting into college - fun way of learning how to be responsible. Colours used are a mixture of toned  as well as bright colours for the same reason.

Sans serif is used as it is more friendly and legible.
Icons are used to make reading more interesting and bring an idea of what the section is about without reading it yet.

Text layout is organised into either blocks, centered or justified to one side. Each section looks different in order to make the experience fun and to keep the user entertained.
Blue and red outline is the Waterford's coast outline.
