The publication Fonts SK maps digital type design in Slovakia and focuses on evaluating type design produced in local context, as well as the work of local authors who live and work abroad.
It describes the time period spanning from the pioneering beginnings in the 1990s up until the present days. At the same time, it draws attention to historical connections as possible sources of inspiration. It monitors the academic world and education opportunities, points to methods of presentation and popularisation and draws attention to possible use of the fonts in practical life.
The largest part of the publication is dedicated to a chronological presentation of concrete fonts and font families, which are described in detail, using typographic samples. The book is complemented by interviews with selected authors, which contribute to the vivid image of type design in Slovakia.
