Tips To Avoid Bad Breath
Bad breath is considered bad everywhere. It doesn’t matter which social circle you belong to. Bad breath is not only embarrassing for you but it can be uncomfortable for the others around you. It is one of the major factors that can lead to the failure of your job interview.
How to know if you have bad breath?
It is pretty simple to test if you have bad breath. You will have to lick the bad of your hand and then smell it after 10 seconds. The existence of foul smell would indicate that you have bad breath. Now, you may find running this test weird in public but it is essential if you want to know about the status of your breath. The even easier way here is to take care of your oral health in order to avoid bad breath at all. For this purpose, you will need to know about the reasons of bad breath.
Reasons for bad breath
Oral Hygiene
This one is the most obvious reason for bad breath. If you have a dirty mouth, your breath is not going to be fresh. Bacteria live in our mouths the entire time. When we eat, the food remnants are consumed by bacteria. The food particles and bacterial byproducts are absorbed by the tongue which acts like a sponge. This entire process can lead to bad breath. It is pretty simple to avoid and treat this issue. You will just have to make sure that you brush and floss your teeth on regular basis. Moreover, there are a number of ways you can keep your mouth clean. Consider each one of those ways to ensure proper dental hygiene.
Dry mouth
You need saliva to keep your mouth clean. Saliva helps in washing away of food particles and bacteria which can be harmful for your oral health. Moreover, saliva can help in keeping the acidic levels of mouth under control. If your mouth gets dried of saliva, bad bacteria find it as an opportunity to take over the control of your oral cavity. Since there would be no washing away of food remnants, bacteria will have complete freedom of releasing their acids which can lead to bad breath. Having that said, you have to make sure that your oral cavity is appropriately hydrated the entire time.
Specific foods
Bad breath can also occur due to consumption of specific foods. This kind of bad breath is not something to worry about but it certainly causes the unwanted embarrassment. Foods such as coffee, tuna, onion and garlic can result in bad breath. While it would be unjust to not recommend you the consumption of these foods because these are healthy anyway, you need to make sure that you don’t go out for close interaction with anyone after eating such foods.
Disease
There are several chronic conditions which can cause bad breath. Some of those chronic conditions include diabetes, kidney disease, infection in gastrointestinal tract, and other chronic illnesses. As a matter of fact, bad breath can serve as a heads up call which you can take note of and go to your dentist or health physician to get diagnosed for oral and overall health conditions.
