Understanding the Problem:
Abstract photography is a creation that not everyone can make out a picture. Abstract can be from texture, water or other surfaces that wouldn't be seen through everyday eyes.
My goal for this project is to create 2 different compositions of abstract images with a new and creative twist.
Abstract: existing in thought or as an idea but not having a physical or concrete existence.

Research:

Something I took away from these google images before digging deeper, are night/ low light photography. I could use color lights or a street while shaking the camera. I also saw the glass ball, I have one of those and could is that with low light. I also say the unfocused images and ones being shoot through something

This website gave tips or simple ideas for ways to take abstract images
+Simplicity- less is better
+Composition- structural design
+Angle of View- look at angel that would be seen by most eyes
+Lighting- can emphasize or make a dramatic effect or be the subject
+Harmony- having visual balance
+Mystery- audience doesn't know what it is exactly.
+Start with everyday objects
+Use elements of design to your advantage
+Go macro
+Shoot through objects
+Capture motion
+Practice the art of subtraction
+Customize your lighting
+Experiment with different shooting styles
+Post-process your images

This website gave me samples of amazing photographers making abstract art. I chose two of my favorite ones that could use as an idea inspiration.

This images was done by Alan Cleaver – Wave reflections. I really like how it has lines but its not a promise line yet still leads your eyes through the image.
This was by the artist enki22 – green morning flow. It has so much texture and color and is very pleasing to the eye.

Generating Ideas
- Use the reflective ball to shoot with water
- Shooting through a "rained on window" with green in the back or any colors/ balloons
- Shoot micro grass but blur it in photoshop
- Take long expose shoots of the street cars and light while the camera moves up and down
- Take long expose with the reflective ball and light ways with lightsabers or phone light
- Go out to chat field and dawn and move the water so its a blur action image
- Put balls underneath a clean glass and drip water on it and shoot the image through the water drips
-oil in water with dye drips
-color pencils in water

Select & Develop

-Mushroom with a high clarity of the bottom texture. Change the tone to cool with the whole image of the picture the mushroom. I will use a low ss. with one light source to promoting the shadows.

-Use the reflection ball in a small puddle of water with a color light in the back. The crop with be only on the top of the refection ball.

Model and Prototype
I started with a basic image of a refection ball of a plant in water. I than cropped it down to a very very small section of my image. Than I manipulated contacts, clarity, whites, black and dehire. I then made more contrast with the S curve. I than manipulates the hue of the green, situation and luminous to create the image I have now.

I used a glass pitcher with water and added blue food dye. I than just took a basic angle looking down. I thank cropped the image in an unusual way. I enhanced he hue of highlight and shadows to create the pink and blue. I thank change saturation and luminous and made it have high clarity and contrast.

Test & Evaluate
- Fails: Something I did not do strong on are following out my plan. I wanted to do a mushroom but I couldn't Get a mushroom with enough texture. I also only have one very strong image. I also made each image abstract by color more than anything.

-Successes: Something I feel I did well on are learning to manipulate  the colors in highlight and shadows. I also did well on cropping a normal image to make an abstract image by cropping not taking.
