Pete Lloyd's profile

Lonesome Traveler

Of all Jack Kerouac's books I found 'Lonesome Traveler' to be his most transportative and immersive, in particular a chapter where he journals his experiences during the summer of 1956 when he worked as a fire lookout on Desolation Peak in Washington State.

Drawing from the startling imagery conjured by his writing and my own travels to the Pacific Northwest I made these visual responses.
I started with rough work drawn in pencil and marker which I scanned and worked over in Illustrator. Finally I added some texture and finishing touches to the vector illustrations in Photoshop.
A limited run of prints are available here.
