Chicalayote: Packaging for Guatemalan Candy

Guatemalan candy is very representative of Guatemalan culture. It's colorful, it's bright and it is to be found in every Guatemalan tradition (and there are a LOT of them). To create the design for the background I used the patterns present in the traditional guatemalan garments: the huipil. Many of them are composed by flowers, plants, geometrical patterns and animals. I adapted the color palette of each one of the boxes to the color of the candy.
Alboroto: I used the pink pattern for this popcorn balls called "alboroto", they come in very bright colours, such as hot pink, green and blue.
Tamarindo: these sweet bite sized snacks are made of a plant called tamarindo and a lot of sugar. They are deep purple.
Canillitas de leche: the literal translation is "tiny milk legs" they are candy bars made out of condensed milk and they are fantastic.
Chocolate: these chocolate pieces are used to prepare hot chocolate. I went with dark brown and maroon for the design of its packaging.
