The most unusual icons are the mixture of the Holy Trinity. In this depiction, the faces of God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit are not only different from each other, they are also combined into one image with three faces and four eyes!
Such an image symbolized the unity and inseparability of the Holy Trinity. Now these icons are rarity, although they were quite common about 300 years ago. In the XVIII century a special decree of the Holy Synod was issued, prohibiting such images.
