The purpose of this mascot concept is to represent the icon of Malang city. Since the old time, Malang is depicted by a roaring lion as its symbol.
Lion (singa) has been used as a symbol in the culture of Malang since the ancient time. It is the name of one biggest kingdom in the land of java, Singhasari/Singosari kingdom.
They ruled this land of java for some couple centuries and create such a big impact in the term of culture in the future of java. They have been symbolizing lion as a symbol of hero since then.
Green colour of this mascot represent mountaneous are of Malang, the rectangular shaped head represent the Pancasila, the official of five philosophical foundations of Indonesian state.
