Villa Salazar Concept - XVIII Michelin Challenge Design

The genesis of Villa Salazar comes from an ethic and symbolic analysis of the actual status of car design and its projection in the future, compared to the expectation of this Michelin Challenge Design topic.
Historically, the automobile and the bicycle appeared during the second industrial revolution and they change the path of terrestrial transportation. The perspective for a more environmentally friendly future, as it is required by ONU and an urging macrotrend of downsizing consume in the so-called Western World, is actually pushing the automotive industry towards a crossroads made of technical and social changes.
Lots of concepts appear with different futures and messages.
In this sense, through this concept I wanted to underline the fact that it could be possible to mix the heritage from both the car and the bicycle industry (especially through velomobile), enhancing the positive value of each of them.
Villa Salazar is one of the limitless proposals for the future of transportation, in an embryonic state yet, but I hope with a potential to shape a concrete platform for research and development, inspiring others people.
Villa Salazar's name evokes the shop of the three-pointed star where materials, fabrics, colors and finishes of tomorrow's vehicles are tested, thus playing on the concept of dissolution between interior and exterior.
