Color: A Study By Joshua Matos
As an Artist, I have always found myself drawn to color. Color to me challenges my art, my process, and my sensibilities relentlessly. I wanted to strengthen my knowledge about the notions and concept of color, but desired
my findings presented in a format that could potentially allow others to learn about a branch of study that I care
about immensely.
“Color” came about with the notion that I would find the answers to the questions I was asking. It by no means is intended to be a book based on set chapters or a table of contents, but to be a way of communicating my findings in ways that retains simplicity, intentionality, and interest. As well as filling the book with valued content, I have illustrated aspects of my findings to clarify terms or concepts that some may find perplexing without a visual aid.
What I hope to accomplish through this project is to better my own methodology in terms of researching and my ability to ask meaningful questions to further my understanding and knowledge as a Artist and Designer; While also learning how to communicate to a potentially broader audience through my art.
