Cornershop have helped create several wine brands for Teusner Wines over the past decade. Apart from producing outstanding wine, Teusner see value in building strong brands and business relationships; dedicating one of their latest wines to one of their favourite grape growers, James Wark. The Wark family are big on tradition. For as long as anyone can remember, the rooster at their farm in the Barossa Valley has taken the name of the breeder. Current rooster in residence and king of the coop goes by the moniker Jim … ’Big Jim’ … named after James Wark.

‘Big Jim’ is noble, handsome, vigorous and virile. He is the perfect ambassador for the very best Shiraz grown in the Wark family’s vineyard at Stonewell; a sub region renowned around the globe for producing world-class Shiraz. At A$65 rrp, this single vineyard wine is positioned amongst a new breed of super premium Barossa Valley Shiraz. Renowned artist Marnie Wark was commissioned to bring Big Jim to life in a painting to feature on the label. Her solution was a big, black, bold and impressive bird; just like the wine that bears his name. Cornershop worked alongside Marnie to develop a brand and label design that reflects its positioning and appeals to its target audience.

Here’s to Big Jim … the rooster and the red!
