Estonian Tax and Customs Board's self-service environment has been the source of many e-Estonia myths – how can we declare our taxes without getting up from the couch, how data just moves and we don’t need to even think about it. The reality, however, is that the older parts of the systems are almost ten years old now. We decided to start from scratch and define the principles the new version of the environment would need to adhere to, so that the new songs written about e-Estonia would continue to put the bounce in our step.
