Midas
In Greek mythology, Midas was the king of Phrygia, who was known for his greediness. One day he well-treated the god Dionysus’s companion, therefore Midas was granted a wish. As the king always thrived for more luxury, he wished that all what he touched turn into gold. As Midas continued to celebrate his power greedily, it eventually caused the death of his own daughter sorrowfully, and the gift was more likely a curse by then.

The curse was washed away afterwards and everything was undone, but his greediness and foolishness never did. Therefore in another myth, Midas was cursed again.
