Multi-block linoleum print made for an Anchor Wallace bulletin cover.  This imagery refers to the way we approach God in prayer.  It is a solitary, contemplative image.  The man in the boat is adrift alone and without oars.  In the same way we don't know quite where we are in this life and rely completely on our Lord.  We do not move ourselves along as much as we imagine, but God causes his will for our future and for our benefit. Each of us drifts in our own personal ark of salvation as God rescues us from ourselves and those who mean to harm the body or distract the soul.
