Visual Application - Tipped In Pages

For this brief i was given a film to watch, The film that i was give was 'The Witch'. I then had to create a book of at least 6 pages using InDesign to piece everything together, Another requirement was to use 1000 words of text taken from articles about the film.

Below are the articles that i decided to use for my tipped in pages.

Once i established which articles i was going to use i started to look at what fonts would benefit the overall look for the genre of my film, The genre was horror so i decided to use a font that was more handcrafted and rough. However i used a more calligraphy style font for the main text of the book because it was more legible and in keeping with the period the film was set in. 

The page displayed below was my first attempt at creating a front cover for the book, I went for an illustrated style to capture the depth of the forest in the image. However after discussing with my peers and lecturers i made the decision to split the front cover into three pages, each page that folds would add a piece of the front cover.

This is the first stage of the new design i had created, The page on the left is the first page of book which starts the front cover. The page on the right is the back cover of the book and it shows an illustration of a figure within the film!

The pages shown below are the next set of designs i created for my book, The page on the left makes up the second part of the front cover and the page on the right represents a scene from within the film.

This group of pages are my final pages that complete my book, the page on the left completes the front cover and the page on the right displays a quote from an article that highlights the word 'Smearing' which i then illustrated to look like blood smears.
