LED Dog Collar Video Review

Keeping your pup safe should be your top priority, and that is not an easy task. There are a lot of pet wearables and tech supplies on the market that are created to aid canine owners safeguard their pups. The LED dog collar, commonly known as light up dog collars like this one from Tech Pup Australia, will allow you to keep an eye on your pooch at night. The glow collar is an awesome, safe way to make sure your pup is seen at night. A lot of doggy owners use them when they walk their pup early in the morning or during the night. Keeping your puppy visible keeps him safe, and it keeps you safe too.
We have been using the illuminated dog collar for the last few months now, and we have to say that it is a very well made product. It's certainly handy especially if your pup loves to roam at night. My two labs don’t usually hang around outside after dark on their own. We live in a very rural area outside Melbourne, meaning possums, rats, and other mammals are common place around our property. Usually these wild animals don't come around in the daylight, but we take extra safety measures with our labradors at night.
Unpacking the Lighted Dog Collars

As soon as you open the collar packaging, you will immediately notice the high quality components of the glow collar. The nylon-mesh that covers the LED fiber optic is durable, and the collar itself is well made with durable reflective stitching and metal hardware. If you watch my Youtube channel regularly, you know that I prefer metal components. However, the plastic buckle is made with heavy duty plastic (ballistic TPU), and that's pretty common with most dog collars on the market today.
Fitting the LED Dog Collar

On the video, you'll notice how easy it is to use this rechargeable illuminated collar. There is a convenient clickable button right besides the plastic buckle. Press it once, and the collar will flash quickly. Press it a second time for slow flashing mode, and a third push leaves the LED lights on a constant glow. Any size and color is the same price, (AU$26 using Tech Tails promo code). It is not an expensive collar if you think about it. The advantage of the glow lights are really worth it if your dogs are often outdoors, specially at night. This light up collar is available in 3 sizes (S, M, L). The collar is built with a lithium ion battery that is USB rechargeable with a small cable that is included in the box.

Charging the Glow Collar

You can do a fast charge in just two hours or a full charge in about four hours. There is a small charging indicator light on the side of the collar that will turn from orange to green once the collar is fully charged. If you use the collar continuously, it will last for almost nine hours. I know this to be true, because I kept it hanging on my door hook one day to observe how long the battery would last. The manual says that you can get up to thirty five days of charge out of the rechargeable battery if you only use it a couple of times a week. We've been using this collar for three weeks now without charging it. Usually we use it for ten to fifteen minutes every day. These lighted dog collars are water resistant, but not intended for swimming. The manufacturer also offers matching leads and harnesses. You can see their full range of products on their website.
