LAURUS hotel
study for converting the Ursulines School of Tinos island into a hotel / cultural center
Inspiration was taken by the Ursulines’ Coat of Arms and the studends’ sign. Emfasis was given to URSULA-LAURUS (anagram) inscription and the Ursa Minor (Ursula) constellation. The URSULA-LAURUS dipole became the base of the project representing the passing from the religious past of the building (Ursula) to the new uses of it (Laurus). Both Ursa Minor constellation and laurel plant (Laurus Nobilis) used in many applications.

μελέτη για τη διαμόρφωση της Σχολής Ουρσουλινών Τήνου σε ξενοδοχείο / πολιτιστικό κέντρο
Πηγή έμπνευσης αποτέλεσαν το οικόσημο των Ουρσουλινών και το έμβλημα των μαθητριών. Έμφαση δόθηκε στην επιγραφή URSULA-LAURUS (αναγραμματισμός) και στον αστερισμό της Μικρής Άρκτου (Ursa Minor - Ursula). Το δίπολο URSULA-LAURUS αποτέλεσε τη βάση της εργασίας συμβολίζοντας τη μετάβαση από το θρησκευτικό παρελθόν του κτιρίου (Ursula) στις νέες λειτουργίες του (Laurus). Τόσο ο αστερισμός όσο και η δάφνη (Laurus Nobilis) βρήκαν διάφορες εφαρμογές.
