Design brief intro
Our design strategy is to produce wearable products in kitchen. And design criteria is animal like, appealing and soft feel. We mainly focus on people who needs caring or want some fun when cooking. When you're wearing this apron, it feels like a cat is hugging you from the back and you can interact with it in various ways.
functions
Touch-and-feel: When you press each of its fingers, it will play different sounds in a cat's voice. And when you touch its arms, it will make a sound like" Glue, glue.", a comfortable sound.
timer: Press both of its palms, you turn on the timer function. To add 30 seconds, you press its left palm, and to reduce time, you press its right palm. When you don't use the timer, just press both of its palms again and you turn it off. In total, you can set time up to 5 mins.
Measure your waistline: Every time you put it on, it will remind you whether you get fatter or thinner and it can give you some advice on diet through APP.
Sketches
We first come up with five different ideas and finally chose the " Hug-Apron" concept which we think is the most interesting one.
our product prototype
We make most of the functions come true except measuring your waistline because of the time limitation. But we will realize all functions in our later product version and develop APP as well. If possible, we are going to put it in to market.
We use different types of sensors and luckily, we solder all components in right position so the prototype can work! The product is driven by three batteries and controlled by code.
