Insight:
Digital Thumbprint is a behavioural change program delivered by facilitators in Australian schools for students in Years 7 to 12. The program is government accredited and uses a blended model of face-to-face workshops and digital resources. This year (2018) the program reached over 20,000 students nation wide across Australia. With a significant milestone achieved an Evaluation Report was collaboratively developed to educated the general public on the program's findings. The report discusses: Key issues in today's digital world, Digital citizenship, The programs approach, Learnings & Findings and The impact of life before and after a Digital Thumbprint session.
Design Process:
The first step in the design process was to establish a target market. Questions related to age, occupational status and common interest readers would have when reading this report were asked to determine the style of the report – fun, techie, engaging and colourful. The next step was to outline a grid structure for the document, I opted for a traditional 6 column grid with 5mm gutter lines, as the nature of this document was a corporate and some what conservative piece at start, it needed strong focal and anchor points throughout. I then proceeded with content and research analysis, drawing out any key sentences or phrases and taking note of important data. The pullout quotes and stats became a vital element across the repot as it brought life, splashes of colour and simplified content to what would be a dull document. The next phase in this report was the launch, to prepare for this, an additional webpage was built into the exisiting Digital Thumbprint website, along with this report, previous publications and findings will also be housed on this page.
