I’m definitely on the dark side of romanticism. The desire for the paradisiac, utopian world of fairy tales is extinct inside me, there’s always something that ruins this sunny place of soft pastel hues.
I can’t deal with perfection in such a terrible reality. I can’t paint a lie.
Atrocities and the horrors of war and death are still relevant today. The chaos, painful, disgusting, horror is hidden, masked by a fake beauty. Although I know our mundane, sinful side is often delighted by pain: we enjoy suffering, our own and the suffering of others. However this true is deeply buried within ourselves.
