Men made marvels, root bridge

Life is yours, take the power to choose what you want to do and yes you must do it well. Take the power to love what you want to do in life and do it honestly. Take the power to walk in the rainforest and try to be a part of nature. There is nothing wrong to take the power to control your own life. No one else can change it or no one else can do it for you. Take the power to make your life happy, and you are the only one who can make it happy the way you want.

If we can imagine a man without lungs, we should imagine earth without rainforest. The rain was intense and I was not sure to go there but finally made a decision to visit this magical and mysterious place.  First I did not want to take the camera, but finally gathered the courage to take them to give some rain experience as well, was it worth it not you can tell me from this image. I had been to Meghalaya a few times but had a wish to explore once in the monsoon to experience abode of clouds. Crazy walk it was some 4000  steps one way and the rain was telling me welcome to my kingdom.
.
A cold wind was blowing from the valley side and clouds were running around hug tightly just not the trees but you as well and it made the trees rustle like living things.
.
The famous place has its own disadvantages, but tough climb and heavy rain made it almost no tourists and very few hard-souls were around but most of them were looking at me and must be thinking who is this stupid walking with such heavy backpack and tripod on the shoulder in this rainforest. I crossed a small village en route, crossed a one-room school, a lazy dog was sleeping on a doorstep, looked at me with sleepy eyes and slept again.

Located in the thick tropical forest of Meghalaya, cloaked with rain during most part of the year are the fantastic man-made cum natural wonders of the living root bridges. Created by the people of the Khasi tribe, these roots grow from the ancient rubber trees, seen only in the northeast region. These roots are trained by the Khasis to grow in such a manner as be in the form of bridges on the top of a river. These bridges are an amazing alternative to wooden bridges that dwindle with so much rain falling on them. The most popular tourist attraction of Cherrapunjee, these double decker living root bridges are 2 bridges that are stacked one on the other, made because of the entanglement of roots.
.
A new root bridge takes about 15 years to get strong enough so that it can bear the weight of people who would be crossing it. Over a span of next few years, the roots become even stronger. It is believed that some of the root bridges are over five hundred years old. The most popular one is this double decker in Cherrapunjee.
.
Finding some wild oranges were the only fun part and yes butterflies teased me enough, as they were telling me, friend, look we can fly here freely and easily.
.
The rain was stopping in between but was no good for me, humidity makes life even worst in the rainforest. How I could manage to take this image is another story and we will talk later.

This Image of double-decker root bridge I made with SONY α7R-III Mirrorless, FE 16–35 mm G Master.
