Amazon Doppler Building
Window Graphics
Creating a window graphic for a big client, like Amazon, was a huge task. The project had to convey the history of Seattle’s South Lake Union history. At the same time had to look artistic and contain information about the specifics of the images.
The first thing I had to do was research a lot of history. Luckily, one of my hobbies is to study history. I dove into the project looking for historical photos, utilizing the City of Seattle’s database network of photos. From the University of Washington’s photo archive to the public library, I researched as much as I could.
I choose a halftone texture as part of the creative as a reminder of the old way images were reproduced on presses. Utilizing the halftone texture, I meshed it into the historical images to make seem like the halftone dots were coming together to rebuild history.
