FIESTA DE PUEBLO IN RHODE ISLAND

FIESTA DE PUEBLO
1995-2005
 FOLKLORE AND BANDS
The richness of Puerto Rico continues to evolve, grow and influence past present and future traditions. The reason you may ask is that of our great effort in heightening musical forms and folkloric practices throughout our Puerto Rican community. Our objectives continues to provide a strong sense of cultural awareness among other communities inhabited in Rhode Island. Our celebration "FIESTA DE PUEBLO", demonstrates an appreciation and understanding of our Hispanic Cultural Heritage. Without events such as this, traditions can be lost and future generations cannot understand how folkloric songs and cultural rhythms provide a sense of pride, value, honor and respect.

We celebrate out Fiesta with colorful, children and family parade, music and the participation of Puerto Rican community of Providence, Central Falls and  Woonsocket. We involve our Latino talents of Rhode Island and invite people from New England, New York and Puerto Rico.  Fiesta de Pueblo provides educational, teaching and learning process of our roots and leadership in our younger people. The Puerto Rican Institute for Arts and Advocacy, Inc., PRIAA support our younger people offering the opportunity to be with us in the management and coordination of this traditional Fiesta, in which the younger are the artists. In 2005 the Board of Director of PRIAA decided to continue the "FIESTA DE PUEBLO", in School and after School program under the Carribean Arts Program of PRIAA, to continue our legacy around Rhode Island, Springfield, Connecticut and other State in USA.

The Puerto Rican Institute for Arts and Advocacy, Inc., works with the Arts state and Regional agencies, city agencies, university,  PTA school, museum, gallery and existing organizations bringing the best of the Caribbean arts and tradition of Puerto Rico to the state of Rhode Island. PRIAA brought authentic folklore from Puerto Rico with a significant number of artists directly flown from the island. The Puerto Rican Institute for Arts and Advocacy, Inc., contribution with the City of Providence and Rhode Island had brought to Providence, economic, great diversity and respect for the Puerto Rico Culture.
