Déjà Vu Art Magazine
Student Project
Déjà Vu Art Magazine is a fictional magazine that promotes collage and assemblage artwork. In the magazine, the artwork shown was created using maps, brochures, manuals, books, buttons, records and other materials found in thrift and consignment stores. The magazine promotes creating artwork using untraditional found materials.

Each spread shows various techniques/ styles of collage art. I created all of the artwork featured in this magazine, except for the pieces featured in an interview about my sister, Kara Saxon. All the artwork for each spread was hand created by myself. Although it was a challenge to create each spread by hand without using digital programs, the final outcome of the magazine proved to be more rewarding.

My thought process while creating this project was to create a magazine that would be different than any other art magazine. Before this project, I had never used the medium of collage professionally. This was a fantastic learning experience for me that helped me realize how much I enjoy working with my hands.
