Windows Phone 7 Launch Invites

When we concepted this project, Windows Phone 7 was about to launch for the 2010 Holidays and while the consumer market was a majority market, capturing the B2B market was critical for success. The B2B market primarily included corporate contracts for employee devices so Microsoft was looking to woo executives with the new devices in hopes that they would purchase bulk orders for their employees.

Microsoft’s team asked us to create a campaign to get corporate executives to attend device launch events. We executed this project by creating multiple touch points in the campaign:
- A direct mail piece which arrived directly to the executives’ desk via FedEx
- A video invite loaded on a USB drive which autoplayed and directed viewers to a online registration page
- A registration page where executives were prompted to register and attend the event, or register for the virtual simulcast of the event
- A week after the direct mail piece was sent out, we looked to see who had not visited the registration page or who had not registered and sent out an email invitation which also took them through the same process.

The project was also successful in receiving a lot of buzz on a number of tech blogs including Engaget, The Next Web and PocketNow.

My responsibilities on this project included Senior Project Manager, Assistant Web Designer and Print Manager.

Additional roles included Martin Rincon as Creative Director, Terry Loh as Graphic & Web Designer and UI Designer ; and Chris Williams as HTML Developer

Software: Adobe Illustrator CS6, Microsoft Silverlight 1.0 SDK, Microsoft Visual Studio
