Surreal Portraits

I aimed to take portraits that are magical, surreal, and colorful, and use unusual angles and lighting. I hoped to create environments and feelings in which to surround the subjects. I wanted the setting and photo style to reflect my relationship with the person being photographed. The final series contains those close to me, including self portraits, in an array of different strange environments.

This series of photos was taken using a Canon EOS 20D. The lens was a Canon Ultrasonic 28-135mm macro with a Kalimar 72mm UV filter. The lens aperture was F/3.5-5.6. I edited them in camera RAW in Adobe Bridge and then in Photoshop CC. The main edits that I made were new crops and tweaks to change the color temperature.
