NHL Colour Rush Series
Designers Note: For the Ducks jersey, although many would have thought the old Mighty Ducks colours would have been perfect for a Colour Rush set, I decided to make a primarily orange uniform with the new logo due to the fact that adidas has already brought back a modern iteration of the Mighty Ducks look with the newest alternate. The angled stripes pay homage to lots of the other jerseys worn by the ducks in the past, while still trying to maintain a modern look.

Designers Note: With adidas reintroducing the amazing Kachina jersey as an alternate for Arizona this year, I decided to go with the Coyotes burgundy colour as the base. The simple cream stripes help make the colour pop more.

Designers Note: With the Flames, there was really no doubt in my mind that for a Colour Rush jersey there was really only one option… and that option was 1980’s style throwbacks. The decision was pretty simple, the colours are all vibrant and really stand out and the fans love them. As the old saying goes, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Designers Note: Looking at Edmonton's jerseys, I wanted to create something that differed from their current colour scheme and also bring back a former jersey. Using bright orange as a base could have worked, but I feel it would be too similar to their home jersey. I settled on bringing back the navy/copper colour scheme, and the logo with the red outline.

Designers Note: The Kings have always been an interesting team when it comes to colours. A team that used to have bright yellow and purple later resorted to black, white and grey as their colour scheme. Seeing as this is a Colour Rush series, it only made sense to bring back the electric yellow and vibrant purple that we have seen in the past. I decided to try my hand at a jersey with this colour scheme and I must say, there is definitely no shortage of colour here.

Designers Note: For San Jose, I wanted to utilize one of their older logos. The base colour is a bit brighter and more vibrant with the secondary colours being white/grey. The brightness of the jersey itself is fitting for this Colour Rush series.

Designers Note: Since the Vancouver Canucks is my favourite NHL team, I really had to think about this one. I ended up choosing the Utica Comets Third Jersey as the foundation of the concept. The main logo is the Johnny Canuck logo which has never been used as the main logo.

Designers Note: They are the Vegas Golden Knights. It only makes sense to have a gold jersey.

Designers Note: I'll start this note off by saying the Blackhawks have always been one of the hardest teams to make concept jerseys for, simply because their current look is iconic and should never be touched. With that being said, I took this series as a chance to give Chicago a jersey that pops with red, while having a new set of striping that doesn't take away from the colour of the jersey itself.

Designers Note: With adidas bringing back the beautiful burgundy based mountain range jerseys in 2017, I figured a Colour Rush series would be the perfect time to reintroduce a blue jersey for the Avs. I took the beloved state flag logo and reshaped the outside outline of it so that it too looks like a mountain.

Designers Note: Dallas was another one of those teams that I was super excited to create a jersey for in this Colour Rush series because of their rich and colourful jersey history. The Stars wear green which is a unique colour as it is when it comes to the NHL, so what better way to use that green than to throw it all the way back to their original Minnesota North Stars roots, using the bright green and vibrant yellow colour way.

Designers Note: For this series, I think it was a perfect time to bring back Minnesota's red alternate jersey. It's a familiar look that has a hint of modern style.

Designers Note: Nashville was an interesting team to create a jersey concept for, considering their home jersey is already primarily gold. I assumed that creating another gold jersey would be redundant, so I instantly thought of their navy jerseys. The primary logo is one that hasn't been used by the team that often, so utulizing it was a fun experiment.

Designers Note: One of St. Louis' most beloved jerseys in the past few decades were their 2017 Winter Classic uniforms. I decided to keep the colours similar to how they were with that set. Keep the bright blue and gold, just eliminate the navy.

Designers Note: I was really excited to make this concept. Winnipeg is known for the "Winnipeg Whiteout", which really inspired this jersey. The colour scheme is based on the original Winnipeg Jets (1972-1996). Also, an underrated part: the dark blue pants that contrast the jersey, which is something that Toronto's 2018 Stadium Series look missed out on.

Designers Note: For the New York Islanders, an orange jersey only felt right for this series. I went with the NY logo that has been used on previous Islanders uniforms, while making the stripes on the arms the same as the stripes on the stick in the logo.

Designers Note: One of my personal favourite uniforms in NHL history has to be the Rangers’ Lady Liberty jerseys, so I used that logo as the main crest for this jersey. Keeping the rangers main colours really helped this uniform pop.

Designers Note: Although the Flyers already have an orange jersey, I did not want to do a black jersey for a couple of reasons. First off, they just released a black alternate jersey, and secondly this is a Colour Rush series. I kept the base orange and went black shoulders that extend down the arm to pay homage to the old Flyers jerseys.

Designers Note: As a hardcore Capitals fan, I had a lot of fun with this concept. I truly believe that the Capitals have one of - if not THE most - under-utilized logos in all of hockey, maybe even all of sports. That logo is the Weagle. It is a creative mix of an Eagle in the shape of a W and the Capitol Building in negative space under the eagle. Since it has never been used as a main crest, I thought I would make that change myself for this series. The Capitals can never go wrong with a red jersey.

Designers Note: A yellow Bruins jersey was an easy decision for me here. My goal was to create a jersey that used yellow, but not to a distracting or overwhelming extent. Being one of the league's Original Six teams, I wanted to make a jersey that can go back to Boston's roots. With the use of brown as a secondary colour - on the pants especially - my goal was to create an old-school vibe with a modern look.

Designers Note: Personally, this Sabres jersey was a no-brainer for me when I was thinking about what direction I should go for them with this project. Nothing compliments the idea of the Colour Rush better than two vibrant colours that work well together, and the Sabres have it. Please, Buffalo, if you see this project, bring back the royal blue.

Designers Note: As I have talked about already, Original Six teams always pose a fun but difficult challenge when making concept jerseys, as all of them have such a unique identity. For the Red Wings, I really loved the Winter Classic logo, and felt that with some updated white striping, it could create a really sharp third jersey.

Designers Note: I personally am not the biggest fan of Florida's current primary logo. I find this (unused) logo to be a way better and more mean looking option. The red being the main colour of the uniform compliments the darker colours in the logo, and allows it to pop on the jersey.
