Who's ready to hear the tale of the stretchiest , most delicious ice cream in the world?
A long long time ago, a drink called “salep" was prepared at the foot of Ahir Mountain mixing ground up flowers, goat's milk and sugar. The drink was immensely popular, including with the Ottoman palace.
One day, a man named Osman Agha buried some of his salep in the snow to prevent it from going rotten.
The next day he realized he'd created a wholly new dish upon trying the icy salep.
A new dish arose from the hills of Maraş, bringing the flavor of local flowers, milk and the snows all together.
And all that's left for us to do is to eat it all!
