The All-new Fiesta ST is the most powerful performance Fiesta to date. Delivering 200 PS, 290 Nm of torque at 1.750 rpm and a 0-100 km/h (0‑62 mph) time of 6.7 seconds, it's a car built for the track that's equally at home on the road.
We wanted to showcase the ST somewhere that would push its track capabilities to the limit. But when it comes to demos, our audience has probably seen it all. So we needed to find a location that would excite even the most hardened petrol heads.
If we couldn't demo the power of the All-new Fiesta ST on a "normal" road, why not take it underground?
Just outside Belfast, almost half a kilometre below ground, lies one of Europe's largest salt mines. With no natural light, 60 km of (just about) drivable tunnels and solid rock instead of barriers, it made the perfect setting for an extraordinary track test.
We set up cameras and put World Rally Championship driver Elfyn Evans behind the wheel with a simple brief: go for it.
