"Just The Way I Found It"

(A landscape in two parts)

Cut paper 16"(h) x 26"(w)

, jar (containing cut paper

pieces...), and stand.

This piece had its inspiration purely from a compositional idea coupled with my resurgent love of classical landscape. I also was inspired that the actual material was MADE from the subject matter (i.e. from tree to paper), and that a piece of art could be 2-dimensional and STILL be considered sculpture.

The accompanying jar contains all the bits of paper removed in order to create the emerging piece. So, if a diligent person was inclined to: a inverse copy of the same piece could be attained- a sort od insanity-inducing jigsaw puzzle...

This could also hint at environmental concerns as our exploration of the landscape takes away from it, or other man vs. Nature types of metaphors.
