McGill School of Continuing Studies

McGill School of Continuing Studies
In 1968, McGill University launched the Centre of Continuing Education - the predecessor to what is today the School of Continuing Studies (SCS). Located in the heart of Montreal, on the main campus of the best university in Canada, the SCS has earned an international reputation as a leader in its field. Its programs are innovative, the lecturers are dedicated and the learners are talented and of diverse origins.

Our mission : to design a new Drupal website for the School of Continuing Studies to improve the ergonomics of the confused structure and more naturally integrate several external systems, including Destiny One, a system used by the university for non-credit registration.
The result? A user-centric responsive website that allows visitors to quickly find information, regardless of the audience they are part of. Thanks to the new structure, it is now easier and faster for School staff to change the featured programs, for example during the registration period. We also optimized the new site for search engines, placing tags and metadata, to be able to have an appropriate analytical follow-up.

McGill uses several external systems that caused confusion during navigation, recording, and connection to them. We reduced information levels, validated our decisions with user tests, and seamlessly integrated Drupal 7 and Destiny One navigation, as well as improved access to other systems used by the School. Moreover, our team has reviewed the graphic interface of Destiny One so that it merges perfectly with the new Drupal site.
