Frederick County Behavioral Health Department Earns Carf Accreditation
In the hopes of addressing mental health issues in the community with the utmost care and expertise, Frederick County's Behavioral Health Services Division Program has sought the accreditation of CARF for their Outpatient Mental Health Clinic.

CARF or the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities is a globally renowned nonprofit that sets standards to ensure the quality of rehabilitation services.  According to the organization's website, one of CARF's purposes include developing and maintaining current, field-driven standards that improve the value and responsiveness of the programs and services delivered to people in need of life enhancement services.

The Association of Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) and the National Association of Sheltered Workshops and Homebound Programs (NASWHP) established CARF International in 1966.  The two organizations then created the Commission to work toward developing standards for a variety of health rehabilitation services.

This month, the Behavioral Health Services Division has been given a three-year accreditation representing the highest level that can be given to an organization.  This recognition is a testament to the commitment and quality of the team to providing their best services to the people in the community.   Before getting the accreditation, the Division went through a meticulous peer review process, which included a demonstration of services during on-site visits by the organization's surveyors.

Frederick County's Behavioral Health Services Division holds office at the Health Department located at 350 Montevue Lane and has been of service to the county's citizens since 1935.  The people of Frederick, MD, can rest assured that trained and certified professionals will handle their mental health concerns.
