UNBOUND - Advertisement and Tickets

Theatre poster created to promote a new, experimental production centering around the lives of the Romantic writers Percy Shelley, Mary Shelley, and Lord Byron. Both the title of the play, and the history of the three writers really called for some kind of twisted, labyrinthine imagery. The central image comes from a 1918 book on maritime rope work and recalls both the unwinding and retangling of the relationships between the play's personalities both historically and within the play itself.
The typeface Bodoni features on the poster, both because of its relevance to the Romantic time period, and also because of Bodoni's ties to Piazza di Spagna. This is only important to the designer and her slight obsessions with typeface history.
