WHO'S BY THE RIVER
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Interactive kiosk designed for kids to have fun with creating and colouring their very own human villager. The creation will then be submitted to the projection screen for further interaction onscreen. Also, users get to leave with a takeaway - Papercrafts of their own creation.
Design and style are inspired by Artist Liu Kang.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DESIGNER
My job here is to design an User Interface suitable for the children. Because National Gallery is an educative space, we also came up with little easter eggs such as introducing colour theory to the children by using the colour palette on the side. Little pop up will indicate what kind of colours they are looking at.

On the UX side, we have to try to put ourselves in the children's shoes and think like them. We went through user observations by doing site visits and then coming up with a user flow that we think is best suited for our target audience.

On the projection side, I get to re-create the whole Who's by the River painting. From sketching all the way to digital painting, the artpiece had to have the same style as the actual painting.
