IDENTIFIED PROBLEM
Lacking facilities for expecting mothers in areas where medical aid is not immediately available becomes a major reason for a higher mortality rate, where both the mother and child's life is no safe.
Baluchistan is one of the provinces which is surrounded by rural areas lacking with very basic facilities, medical aid being the one of the most important need. Pregnant mothers are not encouraged to visit for regular checkups and end up giving birth at home when the time comes. This results often in complications where the lives of mother and child both are at risk. People do not put their trust easily in any service provided and prefer the midwives to deliver their babies. The task at hand was to provide a medical facility for expecting mothers when they are near to delivering the baby.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
The ambulance was thought of to be an initial medical care facility to a mother who is about to deliver a baby, while doing the monitoring and transporting the mother to the nearest hospital. But, the ambulance is also equipped with facilities along with specialized staff in case the baby is to be delivered before they could reach the hospital.
