Adobe Joschmi: Hidden Treasures Poster
The Beauty of a Stencil
The stencil quality of Joschmi Regular is a defining characteristic of the font. Stenciled lowercase letters are used to created the illustration. The letters were masked and colored with a modified watercolor brush from the Kyle Webster Brush set.
Signature Logo for Schmidt & Zimbardi
In researching Joost Schmidt I noticed that he signed his work with his name or a logo. The poster includes a revision of his logo with an added line that makes a z for Flavia Zimbardi. The font name is a combination of both of their names and the new logo gives them both credit.
Process
The lowercase Joschmi alphabet is set outlined and organized in Adobe Illustrator. The file is then pasted as paths into Adobe Photoshop. Each letter is painted on it's own layer to allow for experimentation in the stacking order. Finally the image and small typography are composited in Adobe InDesign.
