Social media banners for XperiDo campaigns. The idea was to make banners to invite everyone to check out our booth, so we wanted those banners to be as eye-catching as possible.
The first one is for the Microsoft Dynamics Communities Summit in Nashville. Nashville is Music City, so Summit organizers went with music- & cowboy-themed visuals, in bright colors:
I liked their design and was looking for a way to incorporate our softer XperiDo blue in there. I decided to recolor/rebrand the cowboy in XperiDo colors:
Tuning the colors to fit well together took some time, but the soft brownish skin tones with the shades of blue is a great fit. Thanks to their awesome cowboy, we got ourselves a unique design that is a nice blend between XperiDo and the Summit visuals:
In the same week, I was asked to make a banner for Directions EMEA 2017 in Madrid. The Directions EMEA visuals weren't exactly as inspiring as the colorful Nashville cowboy stuff:
This is more in line with the usual aesthetic quality of these events. Very businessy, fairly dry and matter-of-fact. Simple re-using the Madrid buildings, like every other business attending the fair, would result in getting drowned in a pool of similar-looking banners. So I decided to do my own thing:
I took the 4 Directions colors and re-created a skyline, featuring the Madrid buildings from the original visual, but a bit more subtle. They're in between other layers of buildings, and heavily stylized:
This design was very out of line with what we usually do at XperiDo, but the reasoning here was that we wanted to stand out as much as possible. The bright colors and bold shaped certainly achieved a look that catches the eye:
