Brand Identity and Digital Design
for Tsargrad TV Channel
Tsargrad is the first Russian Orthodox
conservative information and analytical TV channel.
Idea of identity is in the creation of new language at the intersection of two worlds, which up till present are did not intersected at this level before. Russian Orthodox Christianity and Modern Media.
It is obvious that virtual and augmented reality shall soon enter all over the world. It is also clear that since this is a modern TV channel, that is, the media itself, it will irreversibly move into this new reality, essentially forming it. Which is three-dimensional. For this reason, it was decided to create a logo "for growth", that is, in 3D.
New logo is hyper minimalistic Byzantine 3D cross
which made of voxels. And since it is absolutely symmetrical,
it can be turned to observer with any of six sides and still form the cross.
The idea is quite revolutionary, especially for the Orthodox media,
but it is precisely due to its radicalism and uncompromising nature it works.
The language of such a paradoxical dimension consists of synthesis of the ancient ultra-conservative visual model of Orthodoxy with a modern Cyberpunk renaissance.
