A complete streamer setup inspired by and themed around asymmetric horror video game Dead by Daylight.
Dead by Daylight pits a team of four players — working together to fix generators in order to escape the area — against a fifth independent player acting as a brutal killer, hunting down and sacrificing those unfortunate to cross their path.
It's a fun, popular multiplayer title and certainly the most successful and influential asymmetric horror title currently on the market, and given its popularity with gaming streamers across Twitch, Mixer and YouTube Gaming, I chose to put together a quick streaming setup based on the game's general aesthetic.
This suite includes a number of custom built elements, including pop-up notifications of new followers and donations, a glitch stinger for transitions between scenes, and general interface parts for common displays such as follower counts or newest subscriber.
Fullscreen introduction / "starting soon" splash, to be played as a welcome scene while the streamer is prepping, giving viewers time to receive notifications and head over to the stream:
Animated pop-up, promoting streamer social links:
Pop-up notification when a new person follows the stream, based on the in-game "skill check" QTEs:
Persistent follower count, with animation transition upon receiving a new follower:
Pop-up notification when a new person subscribes to the stream:
Persistent overlay indicating recent interactions with the stream:
Donation alert pop-up, featuring donator and donation amount:
Here's some sample footage of how the overlay looks over actual Dead by Daylight gameplay:
