MATH MUNCH
The tools will help students to prepare basic recipes while exploring mathematical concepts like bar graphs, additions, fractions and multiplications as well as the concepts of mass vs volume. Each tool can be used by a variety of age groups ranging from 5-10 years old. A food journal, measuring cups, and a weighing scale are the three tools used
Food Journal consists of a base and pellets that teach the basic food groups. It helps the child record the food they eat and visualize and quantify it through pellets.
Measuring cups visually represent the fractions and are used to measure liquid ingredients. The cups will assist the teachers in teaching basic fractions while measuring ingredients.
Weighing scale will help the children measure dry ingredients as per the recipes. It will help them understand the concepts of basic addition and subtraction while they add or subtract the wights. The weighing scale can also be used to teach the concepts of mass vs volume by measuring one cup of the ingredients and weighing it on the scale.
