Letters to India - A typography experiment

A combination of two alphabets, Hindi and English, gives birth to a typeface where English letters are inherently within the Hindi letters. Not only do the structures coincide but also the phonetic sounds.

Combining the created alphabet it was then adapted into an age old Indian printing process of block printing. The Hindi letters are etched onto the wood and the overlaying English letters are cut into the stencil above it.
