Ova means eggs in Latin, and just like eggs, the words in Ova get scrambled up. It's a React Native iOS app designed and built in less than 2 weeks. It's a word game that's simple but unique. The first thing you do when playing Ova is create a username. Then, you'll either create a new game, or join a game a friend has already created.
Create new game
If you create a new game you'll be given a unique code you can pass along to a friend so you can play together. The game is for 2 players and is played in real-time, although players don't have to be near each other to play.
The game uses sockets.io to deliver data and information to both players as they play.
Choose your word
Once you and your friend have joined it's now time to choose words. Round 1 starts with 4-letter words, round 2 5-letter, and so on. Once both players are locked in, each players word will be scrambled up and set to the other player. If you can't think of a word, no worry, you can generate a random word instead.
Start guessing
Once both players have chosen words, there will be a countdown that informs you to get ready to guess. You'll try to guess your friends word and vice-versa, in real-time. First player to get their scrambled word right gets the point. Easy as that.
End game
Whoever gets to 3 points first, wins the game! Maximum of 5 rounds with round 5 using 8-letter words.
