Day 1 of the 30 logos challenge. Creative brief:
“Space is building coworking offices so that freelancers and small startup companies have a stunning office to work out of without paying the big bucks to buy or lease a large building....For the Space logo, we want to capture the idea of a personal, modern, and fun shared office space. We would be open to some kind of icon or using the text "Space" to represent the company. We don't have any requirements in terms of colors, text, icon, or otherwise. Have fun with some ideas!”
When brainstorming ideas, I got the idea to use a beehive as part of the iconography. I related the idea of a shared, cohesive office space with lots of interaction amongst peers/coworkers to that of a hive.
I wanted the honeycomb to represent the shared spaces, leaving the bottom right hexagon off to represent an “open space” or inviting someone to fill in the area (rent a space).
I chose muted orange and blue because I felt they represented a more casual environment, yet not too vibrant to denote informality.
